Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance betting action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on individuals directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If prediction market participants believe a sportsbook has mispriced an event, they can capitalize on the difference, driving the prediction market odds closer to what they perceive as the true probability. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges.
