Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can often differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to profit by balancing action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced a team’s chances, the odds on Polymarket will adjust accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of money has been wagered, as the market seeks to establish a fair price based on collective insight.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether NK Istra 1961 or HNK Rijeka will score the first goal. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective probability assigned to each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price converges towards what the market believes is the true probability of each team scoring first. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to new information and changing sentiment.
This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the match between NK Istra 1961 and HNK Rijeka. Any goals scored during extra time or a penalty shootout will not be considered for the purposes of this market. The official match result will be used to determine the winning outcome, and all shares will be settled accordingly.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, suspensions, or changes in coaching staff could significantly shift expectations. Unexpected weather conditions on match day, or even pre-game analysis from reputable sports commentators, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, significant betting activity in traditional sportsbooks could draw attention to potential mispricings, prompting traders on Polymarket to adjust their positions. A late surge in support for one team could also cause a notable price movement.
