Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to profit from the spread, while this market relies on individuals wagering their own capital. Therefore, discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or risk assessments. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information, potentially leading to odds that diverge from those offered by sportsbooks, especially as the event approaches.
