Sportsbooks may set initial lines based on power rankings and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome in the Milic vs Uchida match, they can take the opposite position, driving the price towards what they perceive as the true probability. It’s a dynamic comparison, and discrepancies can appear.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome of the Milic vs Uchida match. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. Conversely, increased selling pressure lowers the price. This creates a market-driven probability assessment, distinct from static odds offered elsewhere.
