Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probability of the event. This can lead to discrepancies, with this market sometimes offering more favorable odds, particularly when there's strong disagreement between the crowd and the sportsbook's initial assessment. It’s common to see differences emerge as new information becomes available and public sentiment shifts.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing the outcome. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective belief of the traders. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders believe Newcastle will win by two or more goals, the price of the 'yes' contract will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the odds closely track the perceived probability of the event happening.

This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be based on the official match statistics, specifically whether Newcastle United wins the game against Coventry City by a margin of two or more goals. The final score will be the determining factor, and the resolution will be based on widely available and trusted sources of sports data. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their strategies based on the final result.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Newcastle or Coventry could significantly shift expectations. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions on match day could also play a role. Unexpected announcements about team lineups or managerial decisions could also cause movement. Ultimately, any information that alters the perceived probability of Newcastle winning by two or more goals will likely impact trading activity and the market price.
