Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the views of many individuals with skin in the game. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Examining these differences can be valuable for informed decision-making, though it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the likelihood of 3 or more total goals. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective prediction of the crowd. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates the market’s assessment of the probability, with higher prices suggesting a greater expectation that the event will occur. Traders are constantly adjusting their positions, leading to dynamic price changes throughout the market’s lifespan.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final result – whether Newcastle and Aston Villa have 3 or more total goals – will be determined by official match statistics. These statistics are then used to settle the market, ensuring a transparent and objective outcome. Traders who correctly predicted the result will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution, while those who predicted incorrectly will forfeit their stake.

Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Newcastle or Aston Villa would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions could also impact the perceived probability of a high-scoring game. Unexpected announcements about starting lineups close to kickoff will also move the market. Monitoring these signals and analyzing their potential impact is crucial for traders looking to capitalize on market fluctuations.
