Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the underlying mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to ensure profit, factoring in a ‘vig’ or commission. Prediction markets, however, are driven by the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This can lead to more efficient price discovery, especially as more information becomes available. While sportsbooks may initially have an edge, prediction markets can sometimes offer more accurate probabilities as the event approaches, reflecting the aggregated insights of a diverse group of participants. The current volume of this market is $0.
