These markets focus on whether a specific quarterback will achieve various levels of rushing yardage in an upcoming football game between two teams. The outcomes depend entirely on the player's performance during the game, with different thresholds defining each market's resolution.
All contracts are designated as protected, meaning if the player participates in at least one play during the first half but does not participate in any play after the first half (including overtime), the contract resolves to the fair price prior to the game's kickoff unless the player meets or exceeds the specified rushing yardage threshold. If the player participates in any play after the first half, the contract settles based on actual statistics regardless of first-half participation. Participation in a play nullified by penalty does not count, and a player who never participates remains subject to the fair price non-participation rule. The protected designation applies only to full-game contracts with an above or at-least payout criterion, and this event uses full game rushing yards including overtime. The markets resolve to Yes if C.J. Stroud records the specified number of rushing yards (10+, 15+, 20+, 25+, 30+, 40+, or 50+) in the game.
Often, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs about the likely outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, it may suggest that the market perceives a different probability than sportsbooks do, potentially due to unique information or a different interpretation of available data. It's important to compare and contrast to form your own informed opinion.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different rushing yardage outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more people buy a contract, its price increases, indicating higher confidence in that outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts as new information becomes available and traders update their beliefs, creating a real-time assessment of potential rushing yardage totals.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official rushing yardage statistics from the New York G versus Houston game are verifiable from credible public reporting. The final, official rushing yardage totals will be used to determine which outcome corresponds to the actual result. Traders who correctly predicted the rushing yardage range will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution, while those who predicted incorrectly will forfeit their stake.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. News regarding injuries to key players on either team—particularly running backs or offensive linemen—would likely cause significant price movement. Changes in weather forecasts, especially if inclement weather is predicted, could also impact the expected rushing totals. Unexpected coaching decisions or strategic shifts announced during the week leading up to the game could also shift trader sentiment. Finally, any late-breaking news related to player availability or team strategy could move this market considerably.
