This set of markets evaluates individual player and team defensive performances in a specific football game, determining whether certain athletes or units surpass predetermined fantasy point thresholds based on standardized scoring rules.
All markets resolve based on fantasy points accumulated by specified players or team defense/special teams units during the full game (including overtime) between the New York Giants and Houston Texans scheduled for October 25, 2026. Fantasy points are calculated using Sleeper’s default full-PPR scoring system, which awards points for passing, rushing, receiving, kicking, defensive/special teams performances, and penalizes for interceptions, missed kicks, and points allowed by the defense. If a player or unit does not participate or is not assigned a fantasy-point value by Sleeper, they are treated as scoring zero points. The official fantasy-point totals published by Sleeper at market expiration are used for resolution, with no additional rounding or post-expiration corrections applied. Markets resolve to "Yes" if the specified athlete or defensive unit records more fantasy points than the stated threshold, and to "No" otherwise.
Prediction market odds often differ from those found at sportsbooks, reflecting the wisdom of the crowd versus the assessments of professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the likely outcome. Historically, prediction markets have demonstrated a strong ability to forecast real-world events, sometimes outperforming traditional polls and expert analyses. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially early in the market’s life, as information and opinions evolve.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes, and the price of each contract reflects the market’s collective belief about its probability. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect new information and changing expectations. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, where a price of 50 represents a 50% implied probability. The market's depth—the number of contracts available at different price points—indicates the level of interest and potential liquidity.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final fantasy point totals for players from both New York and Houston will be used to determine the winning outcome. These totals will be sourced from official fantasy football providers and will represent the cumulative performance of relevant players during the specified game. The resolution will be based on standardized fantasy scoring rules, ensuring a fair and transparent process.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or changes in team lineups for either New York or Houston would likely cause significant movement. Unexpected weather conditions, particularly those impacting passing or receiving games, could also shift expectations. Furthermore, late-breaking news about player matchups or coaching strategies might prompt traders to reassess their positions. Overall changes in public perception or expert analysis regarding team performance could also drive price fluctuations in this market.
