This market focuses on determining which team will score the most points in the second half of an upcoming football game between New York G and Houston. The outcome depends solely on the performance of each team during the latter half of the match, including any overtime periods.
The market resolves based on which team scores the most points in the second half (including overtime) of the designated football game. If Houston scores more points than New York G in the second half, including any overtime, the Houston market resolves to Yes. Conversely, if New York G scores more points than Houston in the second half, including overtime, the New York G market resolves to Yes. If both teams score an equal number of points during the second half, including overtime, the Tie market resolves to Yes, and both team markets resolve to No. Only points scored during the second half and any overtime periods count toward the resolution of this market.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own information and beliefs. If sportsbook odds heavily favor one team, but volume in this market suggests a more uncertain outcome, it could indicate disagreement between professional oddsmakers and the public. It’s common to see prediction markets offer more nuanced probabilities than simple win/loss odds found at sportsbooks, especially as the event approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s collective assessment of that outcome’s likelihood. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and place orders, the prices adjust to find an equilibrium point where buyers and sellers agree. The closer the event gets, the more the price will likely converge towards either 0 or 100, representing increasing confidence in one team winning the second half.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading at the end of the second half of the game will be declared the winner of this market. The final score will be sourced from official game statistics, and the resolution will reflect which team had the higher score at halftime. The platform will verify the result against widely available and trusted sports data sources to ensure an accurate and transparent resolution for all participants in this market.
Several factors could significantly influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the New York or Houston teams would likely cause a shift in probabilities. Changes in team performance during the first half of the game, or even pre-game tactical adjustments, could also impact trading activity. Unexpected weather conditions, or even significant media coverage focusing on one team’s strengths or weaknesses, could also contribute to price movements. Overall, any information that alters perceptions of each team’s chances of winning the second half has the potential to move this market.
