Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from the sportsbook’s initial assessment. The efficiency of this market means that odds tend to be highly informative, and can sometimes even *lead* sportsbook movements as new information emerges.
