These markets focus on predicting whether a specific team will win by a designated point margin exclusively in the final quarter of a college football game. The outcomes depend solely on performance during the last 15 minutes of regulation time, ignoring any earlier or overtime scoring.
All markets resolve based exclusively on points scored during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Nevada vs UCLA college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. Each market corresponds to a specific point-spread threshold for either team’s victory margin within that quarter. If UCLA wins by exceeding the specified margin (ranging from 2.5 to 10.5 points), the relevant UCLA markets resolve to Yes; if Nevada achieves the corresponding margin, the relevant Nevada markets resolve to Yes. Should the game be postponed but commence within 48 hours of its original start time, all markets remain active and resolve according to the final 4th-quarter result. If the game fails to start within this window, all markets resolve to a fair price, reflecting equitable settlement based on available information up to that point.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. If a significant discrepancy emerges between this market and sportsbook lines, it might indicate that the crowd believes the sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that spread occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a specific spread, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence in that outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts as new information becomes available and traders update their beliefs about the game's potential result. This creates a real-time assessment of the Nevada vs UCLA spread.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread of the fourth quarter is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by the governing body of the college football game. Traders holding contracts on the correct spread will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on incorrect spreads will not. The precise details of the final score will determine which contracts settle in the money.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Nevada or UCLA teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact the passing or running game, could also shift the spread. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first three quarters, and even early plays in the fourth, will provide signals to traders and could lead to adjustments in the market price as they react to unfolding events.
