Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially offering a more accurate forecast than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market is driven by individuals expressing their genuine beliefs with real capital. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, biases, or simply the incentive structures of each venue. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information than sportsbooks.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Each platform attracts a different user base with varying expertise and information access. Trading fees, market-making algorithms, and liquidity levels also contribute to price discrepancies. Furthermore, the volume traded on each platform – currently $264 overall – isn’t necessarily distributed equally between outcomes, influencing price discovery. These factors create independent price signals, even when tracking the same underlying event, the Netherlands vs. Greece match.
This market resolves around Nov 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result of the Netherlands vs. Greece match will be used to determine the winning outcome. Resolution will be based on the official result declared by the governing sporting body, ensuring a transparent and objective determination. Any news regarding player injuries, team lineups, or changes in coaching staff for either the Netherlands or Greece could significantly shift probabilities. Unexpected weather conditions at the match venue might also impact the outcome and, consequently, trading activity. Major shifts in public sentiment, reflected in media coverage or social media trends, can also contribute to price movements in this market. Keep an eye on these factors as they unfold.
