This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football matchup, allowing participants to speculate on the game's intensity in its closing moments. The outcome depends solely on the combined score achieved in that specific period, without considering any overtime play.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Nebraska vs Oregon college football game scheduled for Oct 17, 2026. Each market has a different threshold: if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (2.5, 5.5, 7.5, 10.5, 12.5, 13.5, 16.5, 19.5, 20.5, 23.5, or 27.5 points), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For postponements, if the game starts within 48 hours of the original time, it resolves based on the actual result. If not started within 48 hours, markets resolve to a fair price. All markets exclude overtime points and only consider standard 4th-quarter scoring.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of participants, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin, while this market represents what traders believe will actually happen. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, analytical approaches, or simply varying levels of confidence in a particular outcome. It’s common to observe differences, particularly as new information emerges closer to the event.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point totals for the Nebraska vs Oregon 4th quarter. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that specific total occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders adjust their bids and asks based on their own analysis and expectations, creating a dynamic pricing mechanism. The more contracts purchased for a particular total, the higher its price will climb, reflecting increased belief in that outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point total scored in the 4th quarter of the Nebraska vs Oregon game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by a recognized sports data provider. The market will determine which contract corresponds to the actual 4th quarter total, and those holding winning contracts will be paid out accordingly.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player injuries to key offensive players on either team, changes in weather forecasts that might affect scoring, or even significant shifts in public perception based on pre-game analysis could all lead to price movements. Late-breaking news, such as a starting quarterback being ruled out, would likely have a substantial impact. Real-time game developments during the first three quarters could also influence trading as the market adjusts to the unfolding events.
