This set of markets tracks how many points Nebraska and Oregon will score together in the second quarter of their college football game on October 17, 2026. Each market corresponds to a different scoring threshold, determining whether the combined second-quarter points exceed that value.
These markets resolve based on the total points scored by both Nebraska and Oregon during the second quarter of their college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, 7.5 points, etc.), and resolves to 'Yes' if the combined second-quarter points exceed that threshold. Only points scored during the second quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set their odds based on models and public perception, aiming to balance action on both sides. This market, however, allows individuals to express their own informed opinions, which can lead to odds that more accurately predict the actual outcome. While sportsbooks may adjust their lines based on betting patterns, prediction markets continuously update as new information and perspectives are incorporated by traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the 2nd quarter total. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that specific total occurring. As more traders buy contracts predicting a higher total, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, adjusting in real-time to new information and changing opinions.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official total points scored in the 2nd quarter of the Nebraska vs Oregon game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score, as reported by official sources, will determine whether contracts predicting over or under a certain total will pay out. Traders will be able to see the final outcome reflected in their account balances shortly after the game concludes and the official results are available.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Nebraska or Oregon would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring a high- or low-scoring game, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, in-game performance during the 1st quarter, such as a dominant offensive showing by one team, could shift expectations and drive price changes in this market.
