This market will resolve "Yes" if the listed team is ranked within the top 25 (positions 1 through 25, inclusive) of the Week 8 Associated Press (AP) Top 25 college football poll for the 2026 season. Otherwise, this market will resolve "No". The "Week 8 AP poll" refers to the AP Top 25 poll released in Week 8 of the 2026 regular season, expected on October 25, 2026. The preseason poll does not count. A team ranked exactly 25th counts as "Yes"; a team ranked 26th or lower, receiving only "also receiving votes," or unranked counts as "No". If the AP does not release a Week 8 poll for the 2026 season by October 25, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, resolution will be based on the first official in-season AP Top 25 poll published thereafter. The primary resolution source will be the official Associated Press Top 25 college football poll (https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-college-football-poll); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, aggregating diverse opinions on which teams will be in the Week 8 AP Poll. This often leads to probabilities that differ from those offered by sportsbooks, which may be influenced by factors like house biases or initial public perception. Sportsbooks often set lines to balance betting action, whereas this market aims for a more accurate representation of true probabilities. Discrepancies can create opportunities for arbitrage, where traders can profit by exploiting the differences between the two types of odds.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders can buy and sell shares representing their belief in a team’s inclusion in the Week 8 AP Poll. The price of each share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. As more traders buy shares in a particular team, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's depth and liquidity, indicated by the trading volume, also play a role in price discovery, ensuring a relatively efficient reflection of collective expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official Week 8 AP Poll is released and verifiable from credible public reporting. The market will reflect which teams are ranked within the Top 25 of that poll. Traders will be able to claim their winnings based on the final rankings. It’s important to note that the AP Poll is a subjective ranking determined by a panel of sportswriters, and any changes in team performance or public perception leading up to the poll's release could influence the final outcome.
Several factors could significantly impact this market before it resolves. Unexpected upsets in key college football games, major injuries to star players, and shifts in team performance are all potential catalysts. Positive or negative media coverage, coaching changes, and even changes in public perception could also influence trading activity. Any news that alters the perceived strength or potential of a team will likely be reflected in the price of shares, creating opportunities for traders to adjust their positions based on new information. Monitoring team records and key matchups will be crucial.
