This market will resolve to the team ranked #1 (first position) of the Week 6 Associated Press (AP) Top 25 college football poll for the 2026 season. The "Week 6 AP poll" refers to the AP Top 25 poll released in Week 6 of the 2026 regular season, expected on October 11, 2026. The preseason poll does not count. If the team ranked #1 is not among the listed teams, this market will resolve to "Other". If the AP does not release a Week 6 poll for the 2026 season by October 11, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, resolution will be based on the first official in-season AP Top 25 poll published thereafter. The primary resolution source will be the official Associated Press Top 25 college football poll (https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-college-football-poll); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks primarily aim to balance their books and profit from margins, while this market aggregates the collective intelligence of many individuals. As a result, you may find that the implied probabilities in this market diverge from those offered by sportsbooks, particularly when there’s strong public sentiment or information not fully priced into the sportsbook lines. This can be especially true for events where expert analysis and public opinion strongly favor a particular outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in a team being ranked number one. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe a team will be ranked number one, the higher the price of its shares will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the evolving consensus of the crowd.
This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the Week 6 AP Poll is released and the team ranked number one is verifiable from credible public reporting. The AP Poll is a widely recognized ranking system in college football, and its official release will determine which team is considered to have achieved the top ranking. The resolution will be based on the official AP Poll results published at that time, providing a clear and objective outcome for this market.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Unexpected upsets in key college football games, major injuries to star players on contending teams, and shifts in media narratives surrounding team performance are all potential catalysts. Strong performances by teams currently outside the top rankings could also increase their chances, driving up their share prices in this market. Any news that alters the perceived strength or likelihood of a team’s success could lead to substantial movements in the odds before the Week 6 AP Poll is released.
