This set of markets focuses on predicting the margin of victory for either NC State or Stanford specifically within the fourth quarter of their college football matchup. Each market corresponds to a different point differential threshold that must be exceeded by the winning team during that final quarter to settle the outcome.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the NC St. vs Stanford college football game scheduled for Oct 23, 2026. For NC St. markets, resolution occurs if NC St. wins the quarter by more than the specified point spread (1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points). For Stanford markets, resolution occurs if Stanford wins the quarter by more than the specified point spread (2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points). If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows traders to express their own independent beliefs about the likely outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies arise due to differing information, biases, or simply a larger and more diverse pool of participants influencing the price. Examining these differences can sometimes reveal valuable insights into public perception versus expert opinion regarding the NC State vs Stanford game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more traders believe NC State will win by a certain margin, the price of contracts reflecting that outcome will increase. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The platform facilitates this price discovery process, allowing for a dynamic and real-time assessment of expectations for the 4th quarter spread.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final point spread for the 4th quarter of the NC State vs Stanford game will be used to determine which contracts settle at $1.00 and which settle at $0.00. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and objective outcome. Traders will be able to see the final result and their contract values shortly after the game concludes.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game ends. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the NC State or Stanford teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, especially if they favor one team’s playing style, could also shift expectations. Furthermore, updates on team strategies or coaching decisions, as well as any late-breaking news related to team morale or internal conflicts, could all contribute to price movement in this market.
