Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profit regardless of the outcome, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each result. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, varying levels of expertise among participants, and the influence of market dynamics like trading volume. It’s common to observe that this market's probabilities, as indicated by trading activity, diverge from initial sportsbook offerings, especially as new information emerges.
