This set of markets tracks various thresholds of points scored by both teams combined in the first half of an upcoming college football game. Each threshold represents a different level of scoring intensity, allowing participants to speculate on how high-scoring the first half might be.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the first half of the Navy vs UTSA college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined score exceeds that threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored in the first half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set their odds based on models and internal analysis, aiming to balance action on both sides. This market, however, allows individuals to express their own predictions, leading to odds that can diverge from those offered by sportsbooks, especially as the event approaches and more information surfaces. It's common to see prediction markets incorporate information faster than traditional sportsbooks, potentially identifying mispriced opportunities.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The closer the event gets, the more the price will likely converge towards the true outcome. Traders are constantly adjusting their bids and asks based on new information and their own analysis, creating a dynamic pricing mechanism. This allows for a real-time assessment of the event's potential.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official total score of the first half of the Navy vs UTSA game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score, as reported by official sources, will determine the winning contracts in this market. Traders who correctly predicted the outcome will receive a payout based on the contract price at resolution. It’s important to note that the official score is the sole determinant, and any discrepancies will be resolved based on these official results.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Navy or UTSA teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they affect the passing or running game, could also shift the market. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team lineups could also cause movement. Finally, large volume trades on Kalshi itself, driven by informed traders, can create momentum and influence the price of this market as well.
