Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven purely by traders’ willingness to buy or sell. If a significant discrepancy emerges between this market and sportsbook odds, it might indicate that the crowd believes the sportsbook is mispricing the event. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities based on different methodologies and information sets.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. A higher price indicates greater confidence in that outcome, while a lower price suggests less confidence. The market’s price is entirely determined by supply and demand among traders on Polymarket.

This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result of the Nations Cup match will be used to determine the winning outcome. The platform will verify the final result against official sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders who hold shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in losing outcomes will not. Several factors could influence this market before Nov 7, 2026. Any news regarding team lineups, player injuries, or changes in coaching staff could significantly impact trader sentiment.
