Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to discrepancies, with this market potentially offering more favorable odds depending on how information is priced in. It's common to see prediction markets reflect the 'wisdom of the crowd' more accurately, especially as new information emerges. However, sportsbook odds still represent a significant benchmark for comparison.
