PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi defines a 'Yes' outcome for either team winning, while Polymarket requires a definitively determined winner or a 50-50 split for cancellation.Hero tip: Kalshi's market is likely to resolve to 'Yes' with high probability. Polymarket offers a more traditional win/loss/cancel structure, potentially offering better trading opportunities if you have strong conviction about a specific team or the likelihood of cancellation.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Resolves based on a definitively determined winner or a 50-50 split if the game is canceled or abandoned without a result. "If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand."
  • Kalshi: Resolves to 'Yes' if either UMBC or Mount St. Mary's wins the game. "If UMBC wins...then the market resolves to Yes. If Mount St. Mary's wins...then the market resolves to Yes."
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. Polymarket

In the upcoming CWBB game between Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers and UMBC Retrievers, originally scheduled for Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 6:00 PM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event): If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand. Otherwise, the following no-result provisions apply. If the game is canceled, does not start by Saturday, November 7, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, this market will resolve 50-50.

Kalshi

The market resolves based on the official result of the Mount St. Mary's versus UMBC women’s college basketball game scheduled for November 5, 2026. If UMBC wins the game, the UMBC market resolves to Yes, and the Mount St. Mary’s market resolves to No. Conversely, if Mount St. Mary’s wins, its market resolves to Yes, and the UMBC market resolves to No. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, both markets remain open and resolve according to the final official result. Should the game be cancelled or fail to start within the 48-hour window, both markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment of participants under these exceptional circumstances.
