Generally, prediction markets like this one often reflect information and insights that differ from traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by experts and adjusted based on betting action and perceived risk, while this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly before major events or when new information emerges. While sportsbooks may initially favor one team, the prediction market could indicate a different outcome based on the collective judgment of traders, potentially offering a more accurate forecast.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, indicating growing confidence. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price. The market efficiently incorporates new information as traders react to news, analysis, and other relevant factors, constantly updating the implied probabilities.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the final score and official league results. Traders who correctly predicted the winning team will be paid out based on the final share price at the time of resolution.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Key player injuries to either the Montreal Alouettes or the Saskatchewan Roughriders would likely cause shifts in the odds. Unexpected coaching changes, significant changes in team performance during regular season play, or even weather forecasts for the championship game could all influence trader sentiment. Any news related to team morale, strategic adjustments, or public perception could also contribute to movement in this market as traders adjust their predictions.
