Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, while sportsbook odds are typically set by professionals. This can lead to differences, as prediction markets may incorporate information not immediately factored into traditional odds. Sportsbooks also build in a profit margin, known as the 'vig,' which isn't present in purely peer-to-peer prediction markets. However, both aim to accurately predict the probability of an event, and discrepancies can present arbitrage opportunities for informed traders. This market offers a unique perspective compared to traditional betting venues.
