Prices for this market on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has its own user base, trading limits, and fee structure, all of which influence price discovery. Furthermore, differing liquidity levels can create temporary discrepancies. For example, a large buy order on Polymarket might temporarily inflate prices there, while Kalshi might maintain a more stable price due to higher trading volume. These differences reflect the independent assessments of traders on each platform, and can shift as new information becomes available.
