Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, and may be influenced by promotional considerations or attempts to balance their book. This market, however, represents the collective forecast of informed traders who have 'skin in the game'. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on statistical models and expert opinions, the prediction market continuously adjusts based on real-money wagers, potentially offering a more accurate signal of the likely outcome. It’s important to compare these odds to external sources to form a well-rounded view.
