Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk and incorporate a profit margin, while this market reflects the aggregate wisdom of crowd predictions. If a significant discrepancy exists between the two, it could indicate that prediction market traders believe the sportsbook is mispricing the event. However, it's important to remember that both represent probabilities based on different methodologies and information sources, and neither is guaranteed to be accurate.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice-versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date collective intelligence of participants, constantly adjusting as new information becomes available. The current price reflects the market's assessment of the likelihood of a particular result in the Aldridge vs Sampson match.
This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Aldridge vs Sampson match as reported by the governing body or official sources for the competition. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine the winning outcome and distribute payouts accordingly. Traders should monitor official announcements for the definitive result that will trigger market settlement.
