Frequently asked questions

Comparing prediction market odds to sportsbook odds reveals how collective intelligence differs from traditional oddsmaking. Sportsbooks typically set lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, aiming to balance risk and profit. This market, however, reflects the wisdom of the crowd, where traders buy and sell contracts based on their own assessments of the Usher vs Lishman match. Often, prediction markets can offer more accurate probabilities, especially when there's a significant amount of information available and active trading. Discrepancies can highlight areas where the crowd believes sportsbooks are mispricing the event.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders can buy 'yes' contracts if they believe Graham Usher will win the match, or 'no' contracts if they believe Tommy Lishman will be victorious. The price of each contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price fluctuates, reflecting the evolving consensus. The market price is determined by supply and demand – higher demand for a 'yes' contract will drive up its price, and vice versa.

This market resolves around Oct 29, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the MODUS Super Series match between Graham Usher and Tommy Lishman. The platform will look to established sources for the final score to determine which outcome – Usher winning or Lishman winning – is the correct one. The final result will be used to determine which contracts pay out and at what value.

Several signals or events could significantly move this market before resolution. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in playing conditions for either Graham Usher or Tommy Lishman would likely impact trading activity. Unexpected announcements about the match schedule or venue could also cause fluctuations. Furthermore, public sentiment, as reflected in social media or expert analysis, can influence traders' decisions. Major upsets in other related matches or tournaments might also shift perceptions of player capabilities and affect the odds in this market.
