Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public opinion strongly favors one outcome. If a significant number of people believe one player will win, the odds on Polymarket may shift more dramatically than at a sportsbook. It's useful to compare the two to identify potential value or mispricings, though remember this market is driven by distinct forces.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and the probability goes up. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust to changing sentiment surrounding the Baetens vs Self match. The current volume indicates the level of interest and conviction behind each possible result.

This market resolves around Nov 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the MODUS Super Series match between Andy Baetens and Archie Self, as reported by a recognized sports authority. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine which outcome is declared the winner. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at resolution.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in playing conditions could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about strategy or team composition could also play a role. Furthermore, major upsets in other related matches or tournaments might affect perceptions of player momentum. Publicly available analysis from darts experts and any pre-match polls could also contribute to price movements as traders react to new information before Nov 3, 2026.
