Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, they can express that view by trading on Polymarket. This can lead to odds on Polymarket diverging from those offered by traditional sportsbooks, especially as new information emerges. It's a fascinating comparison of different forecasting approaches.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of different outcomes. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket, and isn't influenced by external factors or predetermined values.
This market resolves around Oct 15, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the Harrysson vs Ayres match as reported by the governing body of the MODUS Super Series. The platform will identify the winner of the match, and that result will determine which shares pay out. Traders who held shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
