Prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven purely by traders’ willingness to buy or sell. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, attracting traders to align the prediction market price with the perceived fair value. It's common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbook predictions, particularly when there's substantial public interest and trading volume.
