This market will resolve to "Yes" if at least one no-hitter is thrown during the 2026 MLB Postseason. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A "no-hitter" is a game of at least nine innings, officially recognized as a no-hitter by MLB, in which a pitcher or combination of pitchers yields no hits to the opposing team. A game shortened to fewer than nine innings will not count. Only no-hitters in 2026 MLB Postseason games will count toward this market. The 2026 MLB Postseason comprises the Wild Card Series, the Division Series, the League Championship Series, and the World Series. Regular season games, exhibition games, and any tiebreaker or "Game 163" will not be considered part of the 2026 MLB Postseason. If the 2026 MLB Postseason is cancelled, or the World Series has not concluded by November 15, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market will be official information from MLB; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market represents the aggregated beliefs of informed traders. Early in the season, sportsbooks may have more significant discrepancies, but as the postseason unfolds and more information becomes available, the two may converge. However, prediction markets can sometimes offer more accurate probabilities, especially when a large and active trading volume exists. It's worth comparing both to gain a comprehensive understanding of potential outcomes.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether a no-hitter will occur. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of the event happening. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price adjusts, providing a dynamic assessment of the likelihood. Higher demand for shares indicates greater confidence in a no-hitter, driving up the price, while increased selling suggests skepticism and a lower price. This creates a fluid market where opinions are constantly reflected in the share price.
This market resolves around Nov 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on whether a pitcher or pitchers complete a regulation MLB postseason game without allowing a single hit. This includes all rounds of the postseason, from the Wild Card Series through the World Series. The result will be determined by official MLB game logs and statistics, ensuring a transparent and objective assessment of whether a no-hitter was achieved during the specified period.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Strong pitching performances early in the postseason, particularly dominant starts by potential no-hit candidates, would likely increase the probability and drive up share prices. Conversely, injuries to key pitchers or a trend of high-scoring games could lower confidence and decrease prices. Weather conditions, such as rain delays or unfavorable pitching environments, could also play a role. Any news regarding changes to pitching rotations or a team's strategic approach could also influence trading activity and shift the market's outlook before Nov 16, 2026.
