This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed player hits at least one home run in any game of the 2026 MLB Playoffs American League Division Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Only home runs credited to the listed player in the official box score will count. Inside-the-park home runs count toward this market. All innings of each game, including extra innings, will be considered. A game that is postponed or suspended will count once it has been completed. Official scoring changes announced by MLB within 24 hours of the end of the relevant game will be considered, but later changes will not. If the series is not completed by October 24, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, for any reason, including cancellation of the 2026 MLB Playoffs, this market will resolve based on games of the series completed by that time. A home run hit in a game that has been suspended and not completed by that time will not count. The resolution source for this market will be official information from MLB, including official box scores; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Often, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven purely by traders' beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a player has a higher chance of hitting a home run than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. This can sometimes lead to more accurate predictions, as the market aggregates diverse perspectives and information, potentially identifying mispriced opportunities that sportsbooks may have overlooked.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether a specific player will hit a home run. The price of each share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome. As more traders buy shares in a particular player, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived likelihood. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s efficiency stems from the incentive for traders to accurately assess probabilities; those who correctly predict the outcome profit, while those who misjudge lose money, driving prices towards a true reflection of the event’s potential.
This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on official MLB game logs determining which players, if any, hit a home run during the Rays versus Yankees game. The platform will verify the results against these sources to determine the winning outcome(s) and distribute payouts to those who correctly predicted which players would hit home runs. The market will close prior to the end of the game to prevent any further trading that could be influenced by live results.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in the batting lineup, or weather forecasts affecting the game could all cause shifts in the odds. Strong performances by a player in previous games, or reports about a pitcher's vulnerability to certain hitters, might also lead traders to adjust their positions. Unexpected announcements about player rest or strategic decisions by the team managers could also significantly impact this market, as traders react to new information and reassess the probabilities of each player hitting a home run.
