The Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians meet in the 2026 MLB Playoffs American League Championship Series (ALCS), a best-of-seven series scheduled to begin on October 12, 2026. This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed player hits at least one home run in any game of the 2026 ALCS. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Only home runs credited to the listed player in the official box score will count. Inside-the-park home runs count toward this market. All innings of each game, including extra innings, will be considered. A game that is postponed or suspended will count once it has been completed. Official scoring changes announced by MLB within 24 hours of the end of the relevant game will be considered, but later changes will not. If the series is not completed by November 3, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, for any reason, including cancellation of the 2026 MLB Playoffs, this market will resolve based on games of the series completed by that time. A home run hit in a game that has been suspended and not completed by that time will not count. The resolution source for this market will be official information from MLB, including official box scores; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, often converging towards probabilities that are more accurate than those offered by traditional sportsbooks. However, sportsbook odds are established by professional oddsmakers and can be influenced by factors like public betting patterns and risk management. It’s common to see initial discrepancies between this market and sportsbook lines, especially before significant betting activity occurs. Over time, the odds in both venues usually move closer together as new information becomes available.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether a particular player will hit a home run. The price of each share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a specific player, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence. Conversely, selling pressure drives prices down. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds continuously adapt to new information and changing perceptions.
This market resolves around Oct 21, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which player, if any, hits a home run during the Rays vs. Guardians game. The official game statistics will be used to verify the outcome. The player with a confirmed home run will be considered the winning outcome in this market, and shares will be settled accordingly.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes to the batting lineup, or weather conditions impacting the game could shift the odds. Strong performances by a player in previous games, or even a notable hitting streak, might also increase their probability of hitting a home run. Furthermore, significant betting volume on a particular player could drive up their share price, indicating increased market confidence. Keep an eye on these signals as the game approaches to identify potential trading opportunities.
