This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed player hits at least one home run in any game of the 2026 MLB Playoffs National League Division Series between the Milwaukee Brewers and San Diego Padres. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Only home runs credited to the listed player in the official box score will count. Inside-the-park home runs count toward this market. All innings of each game, including extra innings, will be considered. A game that is postponed or suspended will count once it has been completed. Official scoring changes announced by MLB within 24 hours of the end of the relevant game will be considered, but later changes will not. If the series is not completed by October 23, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, for any reason, including cancellation of the 2026 MLB Playoffs, this market will resolve based on games of the series completed by that time. A home run hit in a game that has been suspended and not completed by that time will not count. The resolution source for this market will be official information from MLB, including official box scores; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may also incorporate a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals wagering their own capital, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities as new information emerges. While sportsbooks may adjust their odds based on betting action, prediction markets continuously update prices based on the collective beliefs of traders, offering a dynamic comparison point.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether a player will hit a home run. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome. As more traders buy shares in a particular player, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of success. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined entirely by supply and demand; there are no external factors influencing the odds beyond the actions of traders on the platform.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official game results are verifiable from credible public reporting. The market will determine which players, if any, hit a home run during the Brewers vs. Padres game. Resolution will be based on official MLB game logs and statistics, ensuring an objective and transparent outcome. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their strategies for future events based on the verified results.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. News regarding player injuries, changes to the batting lineup, or even weather conditions affecting the game could all shift trader sentiment. Strong performances by a player in previous games, or a particularly favorable pitching matchup, might also increase the likelihood of a home run and drive up the price of their shares. Any significant development related to the players involved or the game itself has the potential to move this market before it resolves.
