The 2026 MLB Playoffs American League Division Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees is a best-of-five series, won by the first team to win three games. Each market in this event has a listed line of 3.5 or 4.5 games. If the series is completed, each market will resolve to "Over" if more games were played than its listed line and to "Under" otherwise. Each completed game of the series counts once, including a game that is suspended and later resumed. If the series is not completed by October 24, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, for any reason, including cancellation of the 2026 MLB Playoffs, a market will resolve to "Over" if, at that time, it is no longer possible for the series to be completed in fewer games than its listed line. Otherwise, it will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from MLB; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often aligning closely with sportsbook odds but sometimes diverging based on unique information or perspectives held by traders. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the series length. If there’s a significant difference, it could indicate that prediction market traders believe sportsbooks are under or overestimating a particular outcome. It’s important to compare both to form a well-rounded view of the potential series length.
This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the actual number of games played in the ALDS series between the Rays and Yankees is verifiable from credible public reporting. The market will settle to 100% for the outcome that matches the final series length – either over 4.5 games or under 4.5 games. The official MLB results will be used to determine the winning outcome, and all shares will be settled accordingly based on the final series length.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Rays or Yankees could significantly shift expectations. Unexpected performance in early games of the series, or even changes in weather forecasts that might affect playing conditions, could also cause the market to move. Additionally, any public statements from team managers or analysts offering strong opinions about the series length could influence trader sentiment and impact the price of shares in this market.
