The 2026 MLB Playoffs National League Championship Series between the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers is a best-of-seven series, won by the first team to win four games. Each market in this event names a team and a series spread of -1.5, -2.5 or -3.5 games, and its two outcomes are the named team with that spread (for example, "Brewers -1.5") and the other team with the opposite spread (for example, "Dodgers +1.5"). A -1.5 spread is covered if the named team wins the series 4-0, 4-1 or 4-2, a -2.5 spread is covered if the named team wins the series 4-0 or 4-1, and a -3.5 spread is covered if the named team wins the series 4-0. If the series is completed, each market will resolve to the named team's outcome if its spread is covered and to the other team's outcome if it is not. If the series is not completed by November 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, for any reason, including cancellation of the 2026 MLB Playoffs, a market will resolve to the other team's outcome if the other team has already won enough games that the named team can no longer cover the spread (3 games against a -1.5 spread, 2 games against a -2.5 spread, 1 game against a -3.5 spread). Otherwise, it will resolve to 50-50. Only games completed by that time will be counted. The resolution source for this market will be official information from MLB; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while prediction markets allow traders to directly bet against each other. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market incorporates the collective intelligence of many traders, potentially leading to more accurate predictions as the event approaches. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges and public sentiment shifts.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price movements are driven by supply and demand; if more traders believe the outcome is likely, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date collective prediction.
This market resolves around Oct 21, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Brewers vs. Dodgers series, as determined by Major League Baseball. The market will then settle, and traders will receive payouts based on their holdings and the final outcome. It’s important to monitor the event closely as Oct 21, 2026 approaches to understand how the market is interpreting the latest developments and potential shifts in probability.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Brewers or the Dodgers would likely cause a shift in the odds. Performance in preceding games, pitching matchups, and even weather forecasts could all play a role. Unexpected announcements about team strategy or changes in player lineups could also move the market. Furthermore, significant public sentiment shifts, driven by media coverage or expert analysis, can impact trading activity and, consequently, the price of shares in this market.
