If the 2026 World Series is cancelled, postponed after November 15, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or a champion has not been declared within that timeframe, each listed division's market will resolve to "No" and the "Other" market will resolve to "Yes". The primary resolution source will be official information from MLB (https://www.mlb.com/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the dashboard for the World Series division race tracks the current odds of each team winning their respective division, along with the trading volume and price history. You can see how the probabilities have shifted over time as new information becomes available. Currently, the total volume for this market is $10,442, and the 24-hour volume is $448. This provides a real-time view of where the crowd believes the most value lies in predicting the outcome of each division.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on their own models and may incorporate a margin for profit, while this market allows traders to adjust probabilities based on their own research and insights. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially early in the season, as prediction markets can react more quickly to new information and changing perceptions about team strengths and weaknesses. Examining these differences can reveal where the market identifies potential value compared to conventional betting lines.

This market resolves around Nov 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the winners of each World Series division are officially determined and verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official MLB standings at the end of the regular season. The team with the best record in each division will be declared the winner, and that outcome will determine the settlement of shares in this market. Traders should monitor official MLB announcements for the final results.

Numerous factors could significantly impact this market. Key player injuries, unexpected trades, managerial changes, and a team’s performance during crucial stretches of the season are all potential catalysts. A team exceeding or underperforming preseason expectations will likely cause shifts in the odds. Furthermore, any news regarding a team’s pitching rotation, offensive struggles, or defensive weaknesses could influence trading activity. Monitoring these signals and analyzing their potential impact on each team’s chances is crucial for informed trading in this market.
