Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on their own research and insights. If prediction market participants collectively believe a sportsbook’s odds are mispriced, they can take positions that drive the prediction market odds closer to what they perceive as the true probability. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or breaking news impacts the perceived likelihood of an outcome.
