This market assesses how many points will be scored in a specific quarter of a college football game between Missouri and Arkansas. It focuses solely on the third quarter's scoring performance, providing various thresholds to evaluate different levels of offensive output.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the third quarter of the Missouri vs Arkansas college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold (ranging from 2.5 to 27.5 points); if the combined third-quarter points exceed the threshold, the market resolves to Yes, otherwise No. Only points officially scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the actual result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by a smaller team of experts, while this market aggregates opinions from many individuals. It’s common to see initial discrepancies between the two, as sportsbooks factor in a 'vig' or commission, and prediction markets allow traders to directly express their beliefs about the probability of an event. Over time, these odds tend to converge as new information becomes available, though differences can persist due to varying market dynamics.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing the outcome of the Missouri-Arkansas 3rd quarter total. The price of a contract reflects the market’s probability assessment of that outcome. As more traders participate, the price fluctuates based on supply and demand. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current top market is for over 5.5 points scored in the 3rd quarter, and the price indicates the perceived likelihood of that occurring. Traders aim to profit by accurately predicting the outcome and trading accordingly.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the 3rd quarter between Missouri and Arkansas will determine whether the total points scored exceed 5.5. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring an objective and verifiable result. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct outcome will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on the incorrect outcome will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Missouri or Arkansas teams would likely cause movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect scoring, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first half of the game, such as a dominant offensive showing by one team, could shift trader sentiment and lead to price adjustments. Public perception and any late-breaking analysis could also contribute to fluctuations in this market.
