This set of markets tracks how many points will be scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Mississippi State and Texas. Each market corresponds to a different scoring threshold, allowing participants to speculate on whether the combined score will exceed various point totals.
These markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the fourth quarter of the Mississippi State vs Texas college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026, excluding any overtime periods. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined fourth-quarter points exceed the stated threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, 7.5, etc.), that market resolves to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No.' If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve according to the final official result. If the game does not start within the 48-hour window, all markets will resolve at a fair price, taking into account all known information up to that point. Points from overtime do not count toward any of these markets.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks, which may be influenced by factors like house bias or initial public perception. Sportsbooks establish lines to balance betting action, while this market allows participants to freely express their beliefs about the likely outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges, as traders adjust their positions based on their own analysis. Examining these differences can provide valuable insights into public sentiment and potential value.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final total points scored in the 4th quarter of the Mississippi State vs Texas game will be used to determine which contracts pay out. Contracts predicting an outcome that occurs will settle at 100, while those predicting a different outcome will settle at 0. The official game statistics will serve as the basis for verification.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Injury reports for key players on either the Mississippi State or Texas teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they affect scoring potential, could also impact trading activity. Late-breaking news regarding team strategy or coaching decisions might also lead to shifts in the market. Finally, any significant public information released before the game, such as expert analysis or updated predictions, could influence traders’ positions and move the price.
