This set of markets tracks the total points scored by both Mississippi State and LSU in the first quarter of their college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. Each market corresponds to a different threshold of points, determining whether the combined score exceeds that threshold.
These markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the first quarter of the Mississippi St. vs LSU college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. For each market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, 7.5 points, etc.), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored during the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for a profit margin, while this market is driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs about the likely outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously buying and selling contracts on Kalshi and at a sportsbook. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of an event occurring.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the total points scored in the first quarter falling below that value. For example, a contract priced at 45 means traders believe there’s a certain probability the first quarter total will be under 45 points. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective predictions of all participants. As more traders buy contracts, the price increases, and vice versa.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official total points scored in the first quarter of the Mississippi State vs LSU game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score will be sourced from official game statistics, and the market will settle based on whether the total points scored were above or below the contract price. All trading will cease once the outcome is known and officially reported, and contracts will be paid out accordingly.
Several signals could influence this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either Mississippi State or LSU would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest a high-scoring or low-scoring game, could also impact trading activity. Even public perception shifts, driven by pre-game analysis or expert predictions, can influence traders’ beliefs and move the price. Any significant news related to team strategy or coaching decisions could also contribute to fluctuations in this market.
