Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when there's significant public interest or information asymmetry. If a large number of people believe an outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the prediction market odds will adjust accordingly. It's common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbooks, particularly in events where subjective factors play a large role.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a specific outcome, its price increases, and the implied probability rises. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price and the probability. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adapt to new information and changing sentiment.

This market resolves around Oct 15, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Miroshnychenko vs. Lyman match as determined by the governing sporting body. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their strategies based on the final result.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding the players’ form, injuries, or changes to their training regimes could significantly shift the odds. Unexpected announcements about match conditions, such as weather forecasts or venue changes, might also trigger movement. Public sentiment, reflected in social media discussions and expert analysis, can also play a role, as traders react to new information and adjust their predictions. Major upsets in related matches could also influence the perceived probabilities within this market.
