Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, they can express that view in this market, potentially leading to odds discrepancies. It's worth comparing the implied probabilities from both sources to identify potential value, though this market represents a distinct and independent forecast.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where shares are bought and sold, adjusting the price based on supply and demand. The price of a share representing a particular outcome reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the traders on the platform. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its corresponding shares will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations.

This market resolves around Oct 29, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Miroshnychenko vs. Lyman match as reported by recognized sports authorities. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine which outcome is declared the winner. Traders who correctly predicted the outcome will receive a payout based on the final share price at the time of resolution, while those who predicted incorrectly will forfeit their shares.

Several factors could influence trading activity and move this market before Oct 29, 2026. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or even weather conditions could impact perceived probabilities. Unexpected performance in other matches leading up to the event, or shifts in public sentiment based on expert analysis, could also drive price movements. Major upsets in related competitions, or even significant media coverage focusing on one player over the other, could all contribute to changes in the market’s assessment of the likely winner.
