These markets focus on the point differential in the final quarter of a college football game, allowing participants to speculate on how strongly either team might perform in the last period of play. The outcomes depend solely on points scored during the 4th quarter, excluding any overtime periods.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Minnesota vs Purdue college football game scheduled for Oct 10, 2026. Each market has a specific point differential threshold that must be exceeded by the winning team for a 'Yes' resolution. If Minnesota wins by more than the specified margin in the 4th quarter, the corresponding Minnesota markets resolve to 'Yes.' Conversely, if Purdue wins by more than the specified margin in the 4th quarter, the corresponding Purdue markets resolve to 'Yes.' If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Polls and analysts’ predictions often align more closely with sportsbook lines, but this market provides a dynamic, real-time assessment of probabilities driven by actual trading volume.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads for the fourth quarter. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust accordingly, creating a dynamic and efficient price discovery process. The current price indicates what traders collectively believe is the likelihood of the Minnesota vs Purdue spread falling within a specific range.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final fourth-quarter spread of the Minnesota vs Purdue game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by the governing sports organization. The final point spread will be used to determine which contracts pay out, and at what value, based on the contract's specified spread. Traders holding winning contracts will receive a payout, while those holding losing contracts will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Minnesota or Purdue teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they are expected to impact the game's style of play, could also shift the market. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team dynamics might also play a role. Finally, large trading volume from informed participants could signal new information or a shift in sentiment, causing the price to adjust rapidly.
