Description

This set of markets tracks how many receiving touchdowns each team scores in an upcoming college football game. It focuses specifically on touchdowns caught by offensive players, excluding those resulting from fumble recoveries by other players unless the receiver recovers their own fumble and scores.

Kalshi

All markets resolve based on the total number of receiving touchdowns scored by each team during the Minnesota vs Indiana college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026, including any overtime periods. A receiving touchdown is defined as one scored by the player who caught the pass; touchdowns scored by other players after recovering a fumble by the receiver do not count, unless the receiver recovers their own fumble and scores. Successful two-point conversions, regardless of when they occur, are excluded from all counts. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final official result. If the game does not start within this 48-hour window, markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.

Typically, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook odds, it could indicate differing opinions on the likelihood of various outcomes. It's common to see prediction markets, driven by informed traders, more accurately reflect true probabilities than initial sportsbook offerings, though this isn’t always the case.

On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing each outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy into a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts based on supply and demand, providing a real-time assessment of expectations for the Minnesota vs Indiana game. This contrasts with fixed-odds betting, where odds are set by a bookmaker and remain constant until the event concludes.

This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, specifically the number of receiving touchdowns scored by each team in the Minnesota vs Indiana matchup. The outcome will be determined by the official game results, and the market will settle to reflect which team had more receiving touchdowns. Traders holding contracts for the correct outcome will receive a payout.

Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries on either the Minnesota or Indiana teams, particularly wide receivers or quarterbacks, would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, especially conditions that favor passing or running offenses, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, any shifts in public perception or expert analysis regarding the teams’ offensive capabilities could drive price fluctuations in this market. Unexpected coaching decisions or strategic adjustments announced before the game could also play a role.
