These markets focus on predicting the margin of victory for either Minnesota or Indiana in the second half of their college football matchup. Each market corresponds to a specific point differential threshold that must be exceeded for the outcome to be considered successful.
The markets resolve based on the point differential in the second half (including overtime) of the Minnesota vs Indiana college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if Indiana wins by more than the stated points, or Minnesota wins by more than the stated points, the respective market resolves to Yes. Only points scored in the second half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs about the outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a significant amount of trading occurs. If there’s a substantial difference, it could indicate that the market believes a sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular result, or that information hasn’t fully been incorporated into sportsbook lines yet.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the game’s likely outcome. Traders aim to profit by accurately predicting the spread and taking positions accordingly, creating a dynamic pricing mechanism based on supply and demand.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread of the second half of the Minnesota vs Indiana game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result as determined by the governing body of the sport. Traders holding contracts on the correct spread will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on incorrect spreads will forfeit their investment. The final score will be the determining factor for settlement.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Minnesota or Indiana teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team strategy or starting lineups, as well as updates on weather conditions that could affect the game, could also shift the market. Unexpected performance in the first half of the game will also heavily influence trading activity, as traders adjust their positions based on the developing game dynamics. Public sentiment and expert analysis can also play a role.
