Description

This prediction market asks users to forecast which team, Minnesota United FC or Sporting Kansas City, will win the second half of a Major League Soccer (MLS) match, or if the second half will end in a draw. PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Both Polymarket and Predict use identical resolution criteria, focusing on second-half goals and utilizing the same hierarchy of data sources.Primary resolution logic: Official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers (MLS). Flashscore and Sofascore serve as backups.

Core resolution logic:

  • The team with more goals scored in the second half (including stoppage time) wins.
  • If both teams score the same number of goals in the second half, the market resolves to a draw.
  • If the game is canceled, the market resolves to a draw.

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • Postponement: If the game is postponed, the market remains open until the game is completed.
  • Data Availability: If official statistics are unavailable within 2 hours, Flashscore is used. If Flashscore is unavailable, Sofascore is used. If neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting is used.
  • Score Revisions: Revisions to officially declared final scores made *after* market resolution will not be accounted for.
Timing: Resolution occurs once the second half of the match (including any stoppage time) has concluded and official statistics are available, no later than 24 hours after the event's conclusion. Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds, such as those found for this market, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of forecasters. This can differ from sportsbook odds, which are typically set by a smaller number of professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like marketing and risk management into their pricing, while prediction markets tend to focus more purely on the probability of an event occurring. The spread between prediction market prices and sportsbook odds can sometimes indicate opportunities for arbitrage, though transaction costs and platform fees should be considered. Ultimately, both offer different perspectives on the potential outcome.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Any news regarding player injuries, suspensions, or changes in team lineups for either Minnesota United or Sporting Kansas City could significantly impact predictions. Unexpected weather conditions or referee announcements could also play a role. Furthermore, real-time performance during the first half of the match, such as goals scored or red cards issued, will likely cause substantial shifts in the probabilities reflected in this market. Monitoring these signals will be key to understanding potential price movements.
