Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect the collective wisdom of many participants and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while prediction markets are driven by individuals wagering their own capital. This can lead to prediction market prices being more accurate, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available. However, sportsbook odds are often more readily available and may offer different types of wagers not found in this market. The difference in odds can also be influenced by differing levels of liquidity and market participants.
